Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actress, singer, and songwriter for many years. Raised by her mother in the USA she faced a lot of racial taunts that made her feel being unwelcome. When she attended a 9th grade school audition, where she received praises for her singing, she started to build confidence. This not only increased the confidence of her, but was also a change in the direction of her career. She attended the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. She was 23 when she had her first Broadway performance with Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut in the film You've got Mail were both her big breaks. Her biggest breakthrough was when she played the part of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway production of Spamalot garnering not only her the Tony Award for her performance as well as a lot of critical praise. The following year, in 2007, she was a cast member on the ABC program Grey's Anatomy and became more well-known. Alongside being a popular singer, she released a solo and a longer piece. In addition, she is a LGBT activist.
